The Catch - cover

Marg Vandeleur’s first novel, The Catch, was published by Penguin this March. The book was launched on comedienne Denise Scott at Readings in Carlton on Tuesday 1 March. Theatrical agent Letty Summers wants a baby. The catch? Her partner has dumped her, the singles scene is leaving her cold and at thirty-five, time is running out. Heart warming and hilarious, this story takes us into an upside-down world where lesbians know the most men, comedians can’t laugh and a man with hobbies is exotic.

Watch out for Vicki Bennett’s next book, Signposts for Life: Strategies for effective living and working was published by Lothian Books on 1 March 2005. Due to constant demand from clients and customers this book combines the best of Vicki’s two books I’ve Found The Keys, Now Where’s the Car? (1996) and I’ve read the Rules, Now How do I play the Game? (1997) and adds new updated material. This motivational book focuses on goal setting and achieving success in both personal and professional contexts.

Butterfly Song cover

There were a number of functions in Brisbane to launch the book: a Brilliant Facets Gallery lunch on Monday 21st February at 12 noon, a Relaxation Centre evening launch and talk on 1st March at 7pm and a Women’s Network lunch and launch on 16th March at The Chancellor Hotel.

Terri Janke’s first novel, Butterfly Song, published by Penguin, is now out in the book shops. Dr Anita Heiss launched this story of love, set in Australia’s tropical north, on Wednesday 9 February in Sydney. Tarena Shaw has just finished her law degree but isn’t sure she wants to be a lawyer after all. What place does a black lawyer have in a white legal system? However, Tarena is persuaded by her family to take on her first case. Part of the evidence is a man with a guitar and a very special song.
