Scriptwriter

Kevin has written for a number of television programs, most recently children’s television. His animation credits include Sea Princesses, Bottle Top Bill, Tracey McBean, Li’l Elvis Jones and the Truckstoppers, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, Crocadoo II, Ginger Meggs, Wicked, Gloria’s House, Li’l Horrors and Kangaroo Creek Gang. His live action series for children include Jungle Jack, Raggs, Scooter:Secret Agent, Pigs Breakfast, Chuck Finn and Crash Zone. He has also written for Newlyweds, Acropolis Now, The Comedy Company, Flying Doctors, Col’n Carpenter and Larger Than Life.

Kevin has also written audiovisual shows for the Melbourne Planetarium: Tycho to the Moon and Spinning Out. Spinning Out has also been produced for the Perth and Brisbane Planetariums.

His stage plays include Monsters (VCA and Athenaeum Theatre) which was nominated for the Barclays 1991 New Stages Competition by the Gate Theatre, London, and for “Best New Australian Play” 1988 Green Room Awards, Grass (Theatreworks), A Winning Day (La Mama and the Q Theatre), and Easy to Say (La Mama). Kevin has had ten radio plays produced and broadcast in four countries. His stage play The Three Rubes was a finalist at the National One Act Play Competition. His stage play The Snap of the Rag was published by Heinemann Australia for the One Act Plays Series.

He has been awarded four AWGIES (Australian Writers’ Guild Awards) for his writing. He has also received seven other AWGIE award nominations.

Kevin was granted an Australia Council, Literature Board Fellowship in 1994. His arts education includes a Diploma in Dramatic Arts from the Victorian College of the Arts.
