Paty Marshall-Stace
Childrens Author, Illustrator and Poet
Paty Marshall-Stace is a lively and entertaining story-teller, poet, author and illustrator. She was born in Maryland, USA in 1953 and is the eldest of 10 children. In 1972 she emigrated to Australia, and eventually settled in Victoria. In 1978 her first book of poetry, Middle Winter Blue, was published by Kembali Publications. Her second book of poetry, A Backwoods Root, was published in 1990.
In 1994, Patys first children's book, Cowboy Joe and the Bucking Barrel, was published as a Penguin Puffin. Her second book, The Magic Caravan, another Puffin Publication, was released in 1995. Written on a word-processor that drew its energy from the battery of a '71 Valiant, The Magic Caravan evolved from her experiences arriving in Australia from the USA with very little money, a small family and a lot of love and hope. The Adventures of Jonathan, A Very Special Tree, another Puffin publication was released in 1996.
Paty now lives in South-west Victoria with her husband and four sons. She is available for interview, workshops and presentations.
