Jayne Lyons
Childrens Author
Jayne Lyons is married and a full time working mother, with one eleven year old daughter. She was born and raised in the UK and her high school ‘A’ levels were mainly Arts based: English, History, Art/Art History, but she also studied Geology. It still astounds her that she is technically a ’scientist’ at the moment. She graduated from the University of London in 1990 with a BSc Hons and then again in 1993 with an MSc; both in Geology.
Jayne has worked for the Oil Industry as a geologist/geophysicist for thirteen years. In 2004, while living in Aberdeen, she became very bored one day and applied for a job in Perth, Australia and four months later she was there. She has been living in Perth since January 2005. She writes every day, on the bus, at lunchtime, in the evening and at weekends. She likes writing funny, irreverent stories for children, and especially having a very free hand with language. There is nothing she likes more than inventing new words.
Jayne’s first book for children, 100% Wolf was published by Random House Australia in January 2008. Freddy Lupin is from a noble family of werewolves. But his first Transwolfation is a disaster when Freddy turns into a yapping poodle instead of a ferocious werewolf.
Now his snooty Uncle Hotspur will hate him even more. Just when Freddy thinks life can't get any worse, he's thrown into dog prison. Will he and his new streetwise dog friend, Batty, escape? Who is the sinister man following their every move? Can Freddy prove that he is still 100 percent wolf and save the werwolf pack from disaster?
This is a fun story for 8 to 12 year olds that will have boys and girls laughing out loud. Publishing rights to the story have already been sold to the US and Italian markets. Jayne has plans for a Freddy Lupin Series, and the first draft of a sequel to 100% Wolf has already been written. Jayne is currently also working on an adult novel.
